Hi John,
As you probably know, Convention of States has enjoyed great legislative success in 2022! This year alone, our resolution has passed in Wisconsin, Nebraska, West Virginia, and South Carolina, bringing our total to 19 states calling for a convention to propose meaningful reforms on the federal government.
In some states, we’ve hit roadblocks. So our grassroots teams are retooling, gearing up for the upcoming elections with strategies to ensure success in the next legislative session.
John, I want to thank you for being a part of this battle. In the coming weeks, I’ll highlight the elections of most interest to Convention of States supporters.
Today, I’d like to focus on South Dakota, where we narrowly were defeated in the Senate this year after successfully passing the House of Representatives. Races that seem to be important include:
HOT RACE 1: Senate District 33
Challenger Janet Jensen vs incumbent Sen. David Johnson
HOT RACE 2: Senate District 5
Challenger Colin Paulsen vs incumbent Sen. Lee Schoenbeck
HOT RACE 3: Senate District 24
Challenger Jim Mehlhaff vs incumbent Sen. Mary Duvall
These races will all be decided on June 7th during the South Dakota primary elections. Convention of States Action does not endorse candidates for election, but we encourage you to support candidates that best represent you. Links to all the candidates above are provided for your convenience.
Thank you for being a part of the largest grassroots army in America. Together, we will save this amazing nation.
In liberty,
David P. Schneider - Regional Director
