Hey there - My name is Rep. Matt Cartwright, and I represent Pennsylvania’s eighth congressional district in Congress. As a member of Team Fair Shot, I was told you were someone who cared about keeping the House of Representatives in Democratic hands.

Right now, I’m the ONLY Democrat running for re-election who has won a Trump-district twice, which means I’m a top target for Republicans and their dark-money donors who want to take back the House.

In Congress, I’ve fought to lower prescription drug prices, I’m one of the biggest advocates for workers’ rights, and I worked tirelessly to defend the integrity of Pennsylvania’s elections — all while still reaching across the aisle to get things done for the American people.

My district, PA-08, is a critical swing seat in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Donald Trump won my district by 4 points in 2022, while I won by only 3 points:

Team — This swing seat is now more important than ever. A dozen Democrats lost their seats in the House of Representatives in 2020; I am one of only five Democrats who represent swing seats won by Donald Trump, and I’m the only Democrat to have done that twice.

That means our seat in PA-08 is one of the last lines of defense from Republicans retaking the House Majority and electing Kevin McCarthy the Speaker.

We can’t let the Republicans take back control of the House of Representatives and destroy our democracy, and I won’t let my constituents be represented by someone who puts party politics before our democratic norms.
