We are counting down the days until the June 14th primary election. Our campaign has spent the last year crisscrossing South Carolina and it’s been a blast– but I’ll be honest, it can be exhausting. Our campaign is determined to be on the ground, talking to people about the issues that matter the most in their lives. I’ve attended almost 100 in-person events, and too many virtual events to count, all while serving in the State Senate. Just like you, I’ve learned - the juggle is real! 

I don’t say this to complain; I say it because it shows where my priorities lie. I’m not running for Governor to break fundraising numbers, I’ve broken plenty of records. I’m running for Governor to change the trajectory of our state’s future and the people in it. The reality is that it’s always tougher for Black women running for office to raise money, but we can’t settle for that reality if we want to defeat McMaster in November.
