Egale is joining Ontario 2SLGBTQI organizations and community leaders and calling on provincial political parties to raise the bar on and put 2SLGBTQI issues on the agenda for this 2022 Election.

This call to action focuses on three policy priorities, including the development of a provincial 2SLGBTQI action plan, funding for 2SLGBTQI community and social services and action on gender affirming healthcare coverage.

The Queer Vote Ontario initiative also includes a survey for local candidates, a questionnaire for all provincial parties, a pledge to vote for queer residents, and a letter-writing campaign.

It's time for a change. Join us in asking Ontario political parties to commit to $25M a year to funding 2SLGBTQI services.

2SLGBTQI people are falling through the gaps in the Canadian mental health system. 2SLGBTQI people are especially vulnerable both amid the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Exclusion, discrimination and a lack of cultural competence in mental health systems prevent vulnerable 2SLGBTQI people from accessing the inclusive services and care they need to manage mental health. As an immediate response, we have developed a training for mental health and social service providers.
