Help to Grow programme
The twelve-week Help to Grow programme from East Midlands Chamber is ideal for businesses employing between 5 and 249 people that are seeking to benefit from leadership or management training.
The project is part-funded by the UK Government, with the remaining 10% paid by participating businesses as a one-off upfront fee of ?750. In order to help businesses most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the Chamber is subsidising the ?750 training fee, on a first-come, first-served basis, for 100 eligible businesses located in UK Community Renewal Fund areas.
Net zero
If you feel that you need to do something to get you started on your journey to combat climate change and are working for or with an SME, then through these courses you will get the knowledge and tools to set you off on the right path.
Two courses are currently available:
- 1 hour - Carbon Reduction Introductory Session for SMEs
- 2 x half day - Carbon Literacy Training for SMEs?
No previous environmental knowledge is needed.
Food and Drink Forum SALSA peer to peer programme
Starts 4 May 2022
Food manufacturers employing up to 250 people can benefit from Food and Drink Forum support in areas such as: sustainable products and packaging; improving production efficiencies through more efficient equipment and production lines, reduced waste and energy use; as well as innovative approaches to production.
For any small food or drink manufacturer, the SALSA accreditation is often seen as the standard to achieve to increase sales of their product beyond the local area.
A total of twelve producers are being invited to join the SALSA Peer to Peer programme taking place virtually as four sessions, beginning on Wednesday, 4 May.

How to use influencers to grow your business

Building and maintaining a relevant audience for your business is one of the hardest things to do online and offline. Join B-Global and Status Social to find out how can use influencers in social media to grow your business.
You will be shown how to engage with them in the right way and encourage them to amplify their message to as many people as possible.
During the workshop you will be given practical examples of how influencer marketing can be done for free.
This support is being delivered as part of the East Midlands Accelerator project; a collaborative partnership led by East Midlands Chamber and including our region?s universities and business support agencies. East Midlands Accelerator is part-funded by the UK Government through the?UK Community Renewal Fund.

The skills landscape is complex, and it?s often difficult to know how to access the right training and support for your business. The D2N2 Skills Access Hub understands this and aims to be a ?one stop shop? for local businesses?in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire?wishing to close skills gaps through training, recruitment, apprenticeships and placements.
The D2N2 Skills Access Hub is part-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF).

Nottingham BID and Nottingham Trent University have partnered to provide Carbon Literacy Training for Nottingham BID members. This course will give individuals the knowledge and tools to become ?Green Champions? within their businesses and introduce new ways to reduce carbon emissions and waste. You will learn the best high impact climate solutions to be embedded in your line of work - which could see financial benefits by reducing your company?s bills.
