Mitch McConnell’s Super PAC just reserved $141 million in fall advertising across six battleground states to win back control of the Senate.

In North Carolina ($27 million), Pennsylvania ($24 million), and Wisconsin ($15 million), Senate Republicans are protecting open seats with retiring GOP incumbents and spending whatever it takes to hold them.

They’re also spending $37 million in Georgia, $15 million in Nevada, and $14 million in Arizona, where they need to only flip one seat to erase our Democratic majority.

These massive investments are just the start, folks, with a plethora of other right-wing Super PACs all jockeying for their preferred candidate and Donald Trump’s good graces.

We knew Democrats were in for a tough fight this year, but the $141 million that McConnell’s Super PAC is prepared to spend is the biggest early investment since the Super PAC’s creation — outstripping even the 2020 presidential election.

2020 was an election that brought our democracy back from the brink of ruin. We saw how close we came with Republicans in both the House and Senate objecting to the certification of the election results.

Under no circumstances can we afford to lose our Senate majority. Not when there’s so much work left to be done in President Biden’s term. And not with the looming threat of a third Trump presidential campaign in 2024.
