Alexandria joined Senator Bernie Sanders for a visit to Staten Island, New York on Sunday to meet with workers who successfully organized the first union in the country at an Amazon facility!

They also spoke to workers at a separate Amazon facility who will be voting this week on whether to join a union.

Earlier this month, Alexandria joined Starbucks workers in Astoria, Queens to celebrate them becoming the first unionized Starbucks in New York City and the tenth election won by Starbucks Workers United.

Amazon, which is owned by one of the wealthiest men on the planet, reportedly spent over $4 million to defeat the union drive at the Staten Island warehouse. Yet, Amazon Labor Union, an independent union running a completely grassroots campaign, won 55% of the vote — a true testament to worker power.
