Together with my colleagues from the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I traveled to Germany and Poland during Holy Week to assess the situation on the ground. In Germany, I met with US troops stationed at Grafenwoehr Army Base, and was thrilled to spend time with some of Toledo’s bravest.
I then traveled to Poland, where I met with representatives of USAID and Polish organizations working day and night to welcome Ukrainian refugees, and ease their burden. Our ally Poland has provided a shining example of grace and human compassion while under the thumb of Putin’s violent siege.
Meanwhile, the United States is increasing aid to Ukraine, with an additional $800 million being approved by the Biden administration this month. Together with our NATO allies, we are meeting this moment. Putin’s desperation is apparent as nations of conscience rise up against him.
It is my sincere belief that he will soon be defeated, and Liberty will once again reign from the Alps to the Caucasus. As co-chair of the bipartisan House Ukraine Caucus, I pledge my unyielding support for achieving this objective.
Faithfully,
