New York Times: McCarthy’s Lie Puts G.O.P. Hypocrisy on Trump on Display

New reports have revealed that House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy told his fellow G.O.P. leaders that he would urge President Trump to resign after the violent insurrection on January 6.

McCarthy denied these reports. But hours later, audio revealed that McCarthy was lying to the American people.

Kevin McCarthy knew Trump was responsible for the Capitol insurrection. But he chose to ignore the truth and vote against Trump's impeachment, against a commission to investigate January 6, and lie about his own actions because he'll do whatever it takes to become Speaker of the House. We can't let that happen.
