Eleven years ago, I survived a mass shooting at a constituent event in my hometown. Since that tragic event that claimed the lives of six people, I've dedicated myself to saving lives from gun violence nationwide. I'm reaching out today to share why it's crucial that we re-elect my ally, Dr. Kim Schrier, in Washington's 8th District to fight for common-sense gun reform legislation.

As a doctor, Kim understands how important it is to keep our families and communities safe from gun violence. That's why she was proud to help pass the historic Bipartisan Background Checks Act in the House last year to close loopholes that allow firearms to be purchased without background checks, and she co-sponsored the Prevent Family Fire Act to incentivize the sale of Safe Storage devices for guns.
