John -- we’re sort of facing a unique challenge for Cal’s campaign right now and we figured the best thing to do was just tell you about it:

Thanksgiving is coming up in just a couple of days and two days after that is our fundraising deadline for November. The timing is a challenge.

Here’s why: The goals we set each month are real. Whether or not we reach them determines if we have the resources to hire the staff and enact the strategic plan we need to win next November.

Holiday weekends are -- unsurprisingly -- some of the toughest times for fundraising and we’re worried the timing of a late-November Thanksgiving and our end-of-month deadline may make it hard to reach this month’s goal.

We cannot afford to fall short. Not with McConnell’s super PAC network planning to raise and spend nearly $200 million to keep the Senate majority in his hands, and with shady dark money groups ( like the Koch network ) already spending money here in North Carolina.

So, we’re trying to raise what we can before Thanksgiving. That’s why we’re asking:

Will you add a donation of $10 or more before Thanksgiving and before our end-of-month deadline on Saturday? We know this is sort of an unusual fundraising ask, but it’s really important.
