That's why Brooklyn Young Democrats has proudly partnered with a coalition of reform-minded political clubs to launch Brooklyn Can’t Wait, an effort to create a Brooklyn Democratic Party that respects, empowers, and includes all Brooklynites.

For too long, party leadership has operated with no transparency or accountability. As a result, Democrats are losing local races we should win, and judges are chosen in backroom deals. The party shuts out volunteers instead of empowering them, and does little to drive voter turnout.

We're supporting a slate of candidates for District Leader that have agreed to do things differently.

District Leaders are unpaid, and Brooklyn Can’t Wait is an all-volunteer project. But it’s expensive to run for office, especially for first-time candidates. Each ticket sold for our kickoff event help campaigns hire support staff, send mailers, and reach voters in their districts.
