On the Agenda: President Biden promised a war on fossil fuels when running for president, launched it on day one of his administration, and now says he’s not to blame for skyrocketing gas prices. Heritage President Kevin Roberts and Executive Vice President Derrick Morgan explain why he can’t get away with that. And if you think the massive “infrastructure” bill will ease your commute, you’re wrong. We also offer guides to fighting CRT in schools and gender identity bills in Congress. There are podcasts, events, and more to explore in this week’s Agenda.
Biden Wants You to Suffer Pain at the Pump
In the news: The leftist media keeps trying to gaslight the nation <[link removed]> about skyrocketing gas prices, claiming they were unavoidable, and certainly not President Biden’s fault.

The truth: The pain at the pump is intentional. Biden promised throughout his campaign to wage war on the energy industry. “I want you to look at my eyes,” he said. “I guarantee you. I guarantee you. We’re going to end fossil fuel.”

Our take: “The Biden energy agenda,” write Heritage President Kevin Roberts and Executive Vice President Derrick Morgan, is an “array of policies all aimed at one obvious goal.”

The $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Boondoggle Will Create More Gridlock
A colossal disaster: You may remember that Congress’ seemingly endless spending spree included passing a $1.2 trillion “infrastructure” package last November.

An intended consequence: Despite its massive price tag, it will also increase gridlock and commute times across the country—on purpose.

Why? Simply put, the Biden administration wants fewer cars on the road. It’s an extension of its war on the U.S. energy industry and the wallets of the American people.

A Guide to Exposing and Fighting CRT in Schools
No. 1 in Education Policy: “Splintered: Critical Race Theory and the Progressive War on Truth”—a new book by Jonathan Butcher, Heritage’s Will Skillman fellow in education—swiftly rose to become the No. 1 bestseller in education policy on Amazon.

Exposing the war on truth: Butcher’s new book demystifies critical race theory for parents, educators, and legislators, explaining where it came from, how it has hijacked our schools and villainized truth in education, and how we can fight against it. Get the book here <[link removed]>.

More resources: Heritage also gathered 13 scholars to contribute essays on CRT for “The Critical Classroom,” a guide for lawmakers, educators, and parents to battle this Marxist-based ideology. Learn more here <[link removed]>.
What’s Ahead in the Battles Over SOGI
State of the Union: Concerned members of Congress have blocked several sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) laws, but the threat isn’t over.

On the horizon: In the next year, you can expect the Biden administration to insert gender ideology into new legislation and through executive orders.

Learn more: Read about our past victories and upcoming battles over SOGI here <[link removed]>.

HERITAGE PODCASTS
“The Kevin Roberts Show”: On the latest episode, we pull back the curtain on the hypocrisy of the left’s so-called pro-woman agenda. Valerie Huber, president and CEO of The Institute for Women’s Health, joins Roberts to talk about how far-left policies are often extremely harmful to women and what would actually empower them. Listen to the episode <[link removed]>.
“Heritage Explains”: Heritage recently announced a set of seven policy priorities that will form a roadmap for conservatives over the next three years. On this episode, Noah Weinrich from Heritage Action for America takes us through recent polling that shows why Heritage priorities align with Americans on both sides of the aisle. Listen to the episode <[link removed]>.
HERITAGE IN THE NEWS
