Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 58 | April 24th, 2022 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear Friend, This week brought another huge victory for our New York Republican Party when the appellate court reaffirmed the New York Supreme Court ruling that Democrats illegally drew partisan maps that favored Democrats. Make no mistake: this is a brazen attempt by Kathy Hochul and New York Democrats to rig elections. They know they can’t win on their radical socialist agenda so they are abusing their power to cheat. Even though both lower courts have ruled in our favor, Kathy Hochul is appealing the decision once more and the case will be heard by the state’s highest court on Tuesday. We are asking everyone who cares about free and fair elections to support our case by clicking on the link below. Republicans also continued to go on the offensive this week against Democrat corruption. Our candidates for Attorney General Michael Henry and Comptroller Paul Rodriguez traveled to the Capital and Buffalo to talk about their plans to crack down on the corruption that has been allowed to flourish by one-Party rule. Letitia James and Tom DiNapoli have been more concerned with protecting the cozy Albany cabal than protecting taxpayers’ hard-earned money. That changes on Day One when we elect a Republican Attorney General and Comptroller. Whether it’s Democrats in Washington or New York, their radical agenda continues to have disastrous results for everyone. Crime continues to surge, inflation continues to skyrocket and corruption continues to be a stain on our state. We can do better and we WILL do better with the election of our great Republican ticket this November. Help us spread the word! Sincerely, Nick Langworthy NYGOP Chairman WATCH: GOP Candidates Rodriguez and Henry In Albany, Call Out Comptroller DiNapoli and AG James NYGOP candidates Michael Henry and Paul Rodriguez call out Attorney General Letitia James & Comptroller Tom DiNapoli for being complicit in creating the most corrupt state government in America. Watch Here This is our LAST CHANCE to Stop The #HOCHULmander! Judges from the lower courts now agree: New York Democrats engaged in unconstitutional and illegal partisan gerrymandering. Thanks to your support so far, we are WINNING. Now the case will go to the highest court in New York for final appeal. Anthony is a Hempstead Town Councilman, retired NYPD Detective and former Chief of the Island Park Fire Department who has proven himself, providing meaningful tax relief to local families. As an NYPD Detective, Anthony made more than 600 arrests in connection with murders, shootings, assaults, bribery and possession of illegal firearms. He stood up against the deadly cashless bail law adopted by Democrats in Albany, and advanced by Nancy Pelosi and Democrats in Congress, and he’s witnessed the havoc that illicit drugs and dangerous crimes can wreak on neighborhoods. That’s why Anthony has made his commitment to public safety the centerpiece of his public service. To combat the heroin crisis affecting suburban communities, Anthony has hosted hundreds of Narcan training forums—training and equipping over 10,000 residents with lifesaving Narcan doses. As a Hempstead Town Councilman, Anthony believes in protecting taxpayers by “doing more with less” and has used this approach to provide effective, conservative leadership in America’s largest town. He has cut or frozen taxes in each of the last four budgets passed by the Hempstead Town Board—resulting in multiple credit rating upgrades from respected Wall Street credit rating agencies Moody’s Investors Service and S&P Global Ratings. Anthony led the Town’s pandemic response, providing assistance to local businesses, healthcare providers and struggling families. As Councilman, Anthony helped address food insecurity, enable businesses to keep their doors open and support local schools, hospitals and first responders. This built upon Anthony’s work to help Nassau County in the aftermath of the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy. Recognized for his unyielding commitment to Sandy recovery efforts, Anthony was appointed Co-Chairman of New York State’s Community Reconstruction Plan. As Councilman, Anthony was responsible for passing several Sandy initiatives that helped streamline the local recovery process. NYGOP Must See News: NY's Top Officials Should Have More Power to Police Corruption, Republican Candidates Say New York Now Republicans running for statewide office in New York said Thursday they would try to beef up the powers of the positions they’re seeking to root out corruption in state government, pointing to the recent resignation of former Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin. It’s the latest signal that Republicans plan to incorporate Albany’s recent complications with corruption into their campaigns during this year’s election cycle. Michael Henry, a Republican running for state attorney general, said the Legislature should give that office more power to independently investigate cases of public corruption, sexual harassment, and more. “There needs to be an independence in that office to where they’re not having to go to anyone to get permission, especially if they do investigate that person,” Henry said. He was referring to last year’s controversies surrounding former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who resigned from office after a report from the Attorney General’s Office found several claims of sexual harassment made against him to be credible. He’s denied those claims. Incumbent New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, had brought on a pair of independent attorneys to investigate the allegations against Cuomo, but wasn’t allowed to launch that probe until the former governor gave her the green light. Read Full Here New York Dems illegally drew congressional districts, appeals court rules Fox News A mid-level appeals court in New York State ruled late Thursday that Democrats illegally drew up new congressional maps to unfairly benefit their own party. A panel of five judges wrote that Democrats unconstitutionally drew up congressional districts "to discourage competition or for the purpose of favoring or disfavoring incumbents or other particular candidates or political parties." Two of the judges dissented. The judges said that Democratic lawmakers drafted the 2022 congressional redistricting map "without any Republican input, and the map was adopted by the legislature without a single Republican vote n favor of it." Read Full Here NYC subway crime surging, with robberies up 72% and assaults 28% New York Post Violent crime on the subway is skyrocketing, NYPD stats show. Robberies surged by 72%, with 165 reported this year through April 10, up from 96 in the same period in 2021. Felony assaults rose 28%, with 169 attacks logged, compared to 132 during the same period a year earlier, according to Compstat data. Rapes doubled, from two to four. The stats do not include the 10 people shot and 20 others hurt in the gun and smoke assault by, cops say, an unhinged Frank James on an N train in Brooklyn Tuesday. Non-violent crimes are also way up underground. Grand larcenies spiked 110%, to 275 from 131. Overall, major felonies reported in the subway system rose 68 percent, to 617, from 367, through April 10. Murders decreased from three to two. Read Full Here Reject Andrew Cuomo’s brazen revisionism NY Daily News Op-Ed by NYC Council Republican Leader Joe Borelli Unfortunately, Andrew Cuomo isn’t done with New York yet. In fact, he’s subjecting all of us to galling claims that if only he were in charge, life would be so much better. That is patently ridiculous, given the fingerprints of this man, who ruled Albany with an “iron fist” for 10 of the last 11 years, are on almost everything that’s wrong with our state today. But he keeps making it, and apparently some slice of the electorate is buying it. His recent diatribe in these pages, the latest manifestation of his penchant to blame everyone and everything but the man in the mirror, was not without its merits. It concluded reasonably that if his party fails to chart a different course, “the people will make that difference by defeating Democrats in November.” Very astute — yet it ignores his own contributions to their errant journey. Read Full Here Your parent's Democratic Party is dead Fox News Long gone is the Democratic Party of your parents’ generation. They have morphed and contorted themselves into a political party no longer relatable or recognizable to most of America. Today’s Democratic Party embraces the extreme, rewards the radical, shuns the sensible, and caters to the contemptible. Not too long ago there were Democrats who were concerned about the finances of the country. They were affectionately referred to as "Blue Dog Democrats" who were worried about deficits and debt. There is no place for them in today’s Democratic Party. President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris just introduce the largest budget ever with the largest tax increase ever requested. There very few "Blue Dogs" in Congress, and they are on their way to extinction. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state? Contribute today!
