After the devastating attack on the Capitol on January 6, led by Trump-fueled insurrectionists, the articles of impeachment were passed by the House of Representatives and delivered to the Senate.

At the conclusion of the trial, Donald Trump was acquitted, with only seven Republicans choosing country over party and the rest condoning a direct attack on our democracy. But new reports have come out that prominent Republican party leaders initially condemned the insurrection and placed full blame on Donald Trump.

> Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, was recorded saying, “I had it with this guy. What he did is unacceptable. Nobody can defend that, and nobody should defend it.” In the months after this statement was made, he proceeded to defend Donald Trump's actions and response concerning January 6.

> Mitch McConnell himself, the corrupt and spineless Republican leader in the Senate, was quoted as saying, “The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us,” in reference to the Democrat's efforts to impeach Donald Trump after the insurrection. They tried Mitch… they tried.


We knew that justice would be served if Donald Trump was impeached for inciting January 6, and now, it's apparent that Republicans knew too. But they chose Donald Trump and American fascism over democracy. We believe that elected leaders should place their country over their party, but now we need to know what you think:
