John —

Have you read Lucy’s op-ed in Teen Vogue yet? She put pen to paper to address the exorbitant cost of insulin and how she is fighting in Congress to make this drug more affordable for those who rely on it.

READ THE ARTICLEThe research is sobering: Between 2012 and 2016, the price of insulin doubled. Estimates show that type 1 diabetics pay nearly $6,000 out of pocket each year for their insulin alone. Because of these out-of-control prices, one out of four diabetic patients have no option but to ration or skip doses of their life-saving insulin.

This past year, 100,000 Americans have died from diabetes and its complications because many couldn’t afford insulin — a drug that has been widely available for the past 100 years.

In her Teen Vogue op-ed, Lucy questions why, in the wealthiest country in the world, patients are dying because they cannot afford their insulin. Read the article to learn more about the work she’s putting in to get her bill to lower out-of-pocket insulin costs through the Senate >>

READ THE OP-EDWith Lucy fighting for this common-sense legislation in Congress, we can — and will — make insulin more affordable, so that no one has to make the gut-wrenching decision between putting food on their table or taking the medication they need to live.
