Good afternoon and welcome to our Week-End Update.

The impeachment hearings have been an unmitigated disaster for the Democrats despite two weeks of hearings. They have yet to prove any quid pro quo involving President Trump.

And this just in…Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Democrats: “The weak response to these hearings has been, ‘Let the election decide.’ That dangerous position only adds to the urgency of our action, because POTUS is jeopardizing the integrity of the 2020 elections.”

Speaker Pelosi makes it clear that she believes it is DANGEROUS “to let election decide” the President’s fate. She believes Your Voice and Your Vote shouldn’t count. Here Speaker Pelosi acknowledges their true motivation for moving forward with this taxpayer-funded impeachment campaign.

Worse yet for the Democrats, their star witness, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, admitted under oath that the President never said or did anything close to an impeachable offense. The latest in a long string of witnesses that have done nothing but vindicate the President of any wrongdoing. Watch as Congressman Mike Turner brings clarity to Ambassador Sondland's statement that President Trump did not commit an impeachable offense and highlights Congressman Schiff's misstatement that Sondlond's statements proved their case for impeachment. <[link removed]> This phrase may get overused, but this is Fake News at its finest. <[link removed]>

Opportunity Lost at a Great Opportunity Cost

I spoke on the floor of the House again regarding how Democrat leadership has prioritized politics over the people, failing to bring the USMCA to the floor, lowering prescription drug costs, and making the 2017 tax cuts for working families permanent. Unbelievably, Speaker Pelosi said there may not be time to pass the USMCA. No time? There is plenty of time, but they are wasting it on another investigation to nowhere. It is also important for taxpayers to know the tremendous expense and cost that is resulting from these hearings. I would estimate this investigation is costing tens of millions of dollars and growing. These proceedings have already cost more than the Meuller Investigation because of the extent of these proceedings.

We cannot overstate the importance of passing the USMCA. In Pennsylvania alone, nearly 43,000 jobs depend on manufacturing exports to Canada and Mexico.

District Happenings

The number of manufacturing and manufacturing related jobs in our District continues to grow… Before heading to Washington, D.C., we visited with Ferrero USA who opened their new distribution center inLebanon County. I enjoyed speaking at their ribbon cutting ceremony to discuss how their new location will create 225 well-paying jobs and bring an improved economy and quality of life to our District. Ferraro produces many popular products, including TicTac, Nutella and Ferraro Chocolates.


Later that evening, I attended an event with Republican Whip Steve Scalise, U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt and a group of my colleagues. We took a tour of the Lincoln Memorial foundation, structure and the area below the Memorial. The construction of the Memorial is astonishing. Underneath the Memorial, you can see pictures drawn in charcoal by the workers over 100 years ago. It was certainly a special experience. If you have not had the opportunity to visit the Lincoln Memorial, I would strongly encourage you to do so. The quote that is etched into marble inside the memorial chamber best honors one of our country’s greatest leaders - “In this temple, as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever.”

This week, we also participated in an event hosted by the Jewish Institute for National Security of America. This group supports a strong strategic and military alliance between our nation and Israel. Great event as we celebrate a great alliance between two great nations.

On Friday, we attended a agricultural event with State Representative Kurt Masser’s at a Ponduce Farms in Columbia Count. In addition to Rep. Masser we hosted over forty farm families. We spoke about the importance of agriculture, as one of Pennsylvania’s major industries. In particular we addressed issues like getting more milk back into schools to help our children and the dairy industry, access to rural broadband and regulatory reforms that will make it easier to conduct business.

For those keeping track, we have two Christmas trees from our District in Washington. A tree from Northumberland County, from Larry and Joan Snyder's farm is in the Blue Room of the White House. These are phrases uttered by witnesses during the Impeachment hearings this week. Phrases attributed to individuals Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff has declared “fact” witnesses. America deserves much better than the broken process and charade we are witnessing. At the end of this I do believe Adam is going to be up Schiff's creek without a paddle.... haha.

President Trump’s America First Agenda is working… unemployment is low, job creation is up, our economy is strong and our nation is safer. But the Swamp is dead set on working to oust the President from office because they know he is poised to win re-election. 

Yesterday morning, I appeared on Sirius/XM's Breitbart with Matt Boyle. I again spoke about the sham impeachment hearings and why Pennsylvania will again vote to support President Trump.

In our Friday Night Light’s Update: I want to congratulate all of the high school football teams in  PA-09 still battling in the playoffs, including Tamaqua High School and Southern Columbia. The Pottsville High School Crimson Tide lost a heartbreaker in triple overtime. They played a great game and had a tremendous season. Congratulations to Tamaqua and Southern Columbia.

As a proud father, I want to again acknowledge that my son Danny's team, the Dallas Mountaineers, won a hard-fought game (43-36) against Imhotep Charter from Philadelphia. Dallas continues to advance through the PIAA Football Championships - 4A tournament. This coming Friday, Dallas is playing Jersey Shore at 6pm at Danville High School for anyone who wants to come out. This season has been lots of fun and these kids are making memories that will last a lifetime. Below are pictures of our family with Danny, including my wife Shelley as well as my dad Stan, my brother Scott and I.
