Angel Volunteer Bakes 30,000th Cookie for DeployedOne year ago, Angel Christina was featured in a news article when she reached a very special milestone— baking her 20,000th cookie for deployed service members. On April 8th of this year, Christina, also know as "The Bakineer," crossed the next milestone on her journey supporting service members— she sent her 30,000th cookie to a deployed service member through the Soldiers' Angels Angel Bakers Team! “Baked goods might seem like an odd choice to send to someone in a war zone, but I think it offers people a taste of home. It’s a break in their days,” McNeil says. Thank you Christina for your incredible support of our deployed! We are sure they are all grateful to receive a delicious taste of home! Bedside Games at the Denver VASoldiers' Angels volunteers in Denver hosted a breakfast and game day for veteran patients. Even from their beds, veterans enjoyed getting together for a round of games. A Very Special 82nd"I just want to thank you and the volunteers who sent cards to my dad for his 82nd birthday. You can’t imagine his surprise when he went to open the cards and realized he didn’t know who sent them. Once he started reading them, he became emotional because of the love you all demonstrated for our country and your gratitude to him for serving. Here are a couple of pictures. Once again, thank you for truly making his 82nd birthday so special." - Gena A testament to the power of a simple card. Thank you, Cards Plus Team for helping this veteran celebrate his Birthday! We Love Our Angels! This past week was National Volunteer Week! A week to show our volunteers how grateful we are for their continued support and dedication. Volunteers are the beating heart of Soldiers' Angels and we could not carry out our mission without their commitment to the military and veteran community. Throughout the week we hosted virtual activities and in-person events to highlight our wonderful volunteers! But to any volunteers that may not have been able to attend those events and may not have heard our gratitude for all that you do, THANK YOU!! We truly appreciate each and every one of you. Stay tuned to our social channels and blog for a recap of all of the volunteer activities we hosted during National Volunteer Week! We're certain the deployed service members that received these colorful spring care packages and baked goodies had a very HOPPY Easter thanks to Angel volunteers on the Deployed Support Teams!
