Members of Congress should not buy and sell stocks while in public office.
This is not a controversial idea. But today, it’s perfectly legal.
Mark is working with Jon Ossoff from Georgia to change that. Together, they’ve introduced legislation called the Ban Congressional Stock Trading Act which is as simple as it is necessary.
When Mark was sworn into the Senate, he moved all of his assets into qualified blind trusts so that Arizonans know he’s working for them and them alone.
Elected leaders have access to valuable policy information that impacts the economy and many industries. The legislation Mark and Jon introduced would put an end to corrupt insider trading and ensure Congress focuses on delivering results for the American people — not their stock portfolios.
This is an idea supported by Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike.
