I continue to take a stand against the war on democracy, free speech, civil liberties, and the right to govern you own body and your child's! Doctors should not be disbarred for having medical opinions and neither should America's military or American parents!
We must also consider how all of a sudden, the "science-based" mask mandates have disappeared in the big cities, including Washington, D.C (with 400,000+ registered Democrats). I'm surprised at how quickly members of the Democrat "party of science" are enjoying their maskless freedom. The United States will improve the more it governs like the Sunshine State!

On Thursday, I sat down for an interview with John Hines of One America News Network to discuss the extreme rate of illegal entry at our Southern Border, how Joe Biden's unwillingness to repair the Wall and deport criminal aliens is exacerbating the crisis, and referenced an upcoming hearing where he will question Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The American immigration crisis does have solutions, the current administration is the real problem.

NAS PENSACOLA WINS 2022 CNIC LARGE INSTALLATION OF THE YEAR
I'm thrilled to pass along the great news that Naval Air Station Pensacola is being named Commander, Navy Installations Command's Installation of the Year for 2022. NAS is the backbone of FL-01 and a true honor to represent in the United States Congress. Examples of NASP's excellence include the completion of 50,000 mishap-free operations, 8,000 combat training activities, 7,600 radar/instrument approaches, and 12 large force exercises. I am extremely proud, yet not surprised to hear this great news bestowed upon an essential American institution. Congratulations!
CONGRESSMAN GAETZ ATTENDS ENLISTED RECOGNITION BREAKFAST
I'm happy to have had the opportunity to join 34 of Florida's heroic servicemen and women for recognition of their outstanding performance in the line of duty. I presented each of them with certificates at the annual Enlisted Recognition Breakfast, hosted by the Pensacola Council Navy League. Thank you for your service!
APRIL 20TH QUICKSINK EVENT
I also enjoyed meeting with the Eglin Air Force Research Lab team this week! We reviewed the development of a Weapon Open Systems Architecture to deliver precision targeting of maritime surface vessels at a low cost. I am proud of Colonel Meeks and his team at AFRL and the joint venture between other branches of the military to combat an urgent need to neutralize massive maritime threats over vast areas around the world.
CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW
I want to remind everyone that tomorrow, my annual Congressional Art Competition announcement at Artel Gallery will occur at 10am. High school students from across Florida’s First Congressional District submitted their artwork for the competition, and a panel of local art professionals judged the pieces. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from participating districts across the country.
I encourage everyone to attend and enjoy the best art that Northwest Florida's students have assembled!

CONGRESSMAN MATT GAETZ DEMANDS ANSWERS FROM SECRETARY MAYORKAS ON EXTREME ILLEGAL ENTRY & REPAIRING BORDER WALL
This week, I sent a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas demanding an explanation for the meteoric increase of unauthorized persons entering U.S. soil, as well as the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) plan to identify and deport those individuals here illegally. My letter specifically calls for DHS to repair the existing portions of the southern border wall as the structure is under taxpayer-funded warranty. Stay tuned for next week, when Secretary Mayorkas will testify before the House Judiciary Committee!

MAYORKAS WANTS GENDER-NEUTRAL SCREENING
The Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) newly announced “gender-neutral screening process” doesn’t enhance the state of our national security, it diminishes it. This includes reducing pat downs and removing gender considerations to validate a traveler's identification, which doesn't enhance national security, it diminishes it. Wokeness makes America unsafe. I am cosponsoring Rep. Lauren Boebert and Rep. Dan Bishop’s common-sense bill, the Securing Americans from Transportation Insanity Act, which would prohibit federal funding for the TSA to modify their Standard Operating Procedures to remove any biologically determined screening procedures. The comprehensive safety and security of our country comes first.
