Happy Earth Day, folks!
52 years ago, I went to one of the first ever Earth Day demonstrations in Philadelphia. That day in 1970, millions of students, activists, and folks across the country took action to celebrate and protect our environment.
Half a century later, the climate crisis is taking a toll on our public lands, our homes, and our health. This year, it landed on Coloradans’ doorstep and caused too much heartbreak — from wildfires and mudslides to droughts and soaring temperatures.
That’s why my Democratic colleagues and I worked hard this past year to pass legislation that confronts the climate crisis head-on — like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that’s delivering historic investments in clean energy, electric vehicle charging ports, and climate resilient infrastructure to protect us from wildfires.
Don’t get me wrong though, there’s still plenty more work to do to protect our public lands and transition us to a clean-energy economy. But Mitch McConnell and his allies are doing everything they can to obstruct our progress — so I’m asking:
Will you add your name to my petition calling on my Senate colleagues to do their jobs and pass legislation that seriously takes on climate change for the crisis that it is? [[link removed]]

There is no better place to celebrate the gifts that nature has given us than Colorado. We’ve got to do all that we can to protect it.
Thanks and talk soon,
John
