Today, April 22, 2022, marks the 52nd anniversary of Earth Day. While our attention is drawn to other things right now, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate this day and tell you more about why I support a Green New Deal.
If you’re ready to pass a Green New Deal, will you chip in $5 or whatever you can to help me get to the Senate so I can help lead this fight? I’ll explain why this is so important to me.

Our so-called leaders in Kentucky, like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, don’t care to be honest with us about what the future holds. They certainly don’t care to ensure that future generations will have a viable planet to live on.
They’ve ignored the environmental effects on small farms that are fighting every day to stay afloat.
They’ve ignored coal miners with Black Lung, and coal communities that have lost vital revenue, and aren’t doing enough to make sure they aren’t left behind.
And the longer they stay in office, the longer they’ll continue to ignore us and what we need to survive, much less thrive.
I believe climate change is happening, and it is threatening the air we breathe and the water we drink.
Implementing a Green New Deal is just the first step towards addressing the climate crisis — but it’s an important step, and one we need to take immediately.
When I defeat Rand Paul this year, I’ll take action to address the climate crisis with housing justice, guaranteed union jobs, and direct community investment. But I need your help to get there — will you join us today by chipping in $5 today?
A Green New Deal is an integral part of our agenda to bring real, progressive change to Kentucky and our country.
Kentucky is one of the largest coal-producing states in the country, and our economy has been rocked by the decline of the coal industry. Other states are in similar positions. We need to build an economy that thrives on clean, renewable sources of energy — not one that depends on fossil fuels.
This is a responsibility I don’t take lightly: We must build a future in which my two young girls — and young people everywhere — can thrive.
I know that I’m the one that’ll make the Green New Deal happen. But I can’t get there without your help. Please if you want the Senate to take on climate action, please chip in $5, $15, or whatever you can afford to our movement today.
Onward,
Charles
