** We won't give up this fight until we've won it!
------------------------------------------------------------
============================================================
Dear FAIR Community,
FAIR’s been around for nearly 36 years, but we believe our work is as crucial now as ever. As long as corporate media put the interests of the few over the needs of the many, we won’t give up the fight. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just joining now, FAIR is there for you.
We’re in the middle of our spring fund drive, and are working to raise $20,000 by May 1.
** If you are able to help us reach our goal, please donate today! ([link removed])
Here are a few words from our spring interns about why FAIR is important to them:
* “FAIR provided me with a deeper understanding of not only biases intrinsic to corporate media, but of emancipatory politics in general. As in all forms of activism, nothing in the media will change unless we actively resist it.”
—Ines Santos, senior at CUNY Hunter College, BA media studies
* “It has been such a joy and honor interning for FAIR. As an intern, I've been given the opportunity to pursue my passion for social change by contributing to an organization which has held the corporate media to account for decades. It's never been more important to support FAIR's ruthless criticism of a media shaped by the powerful special interests that continue to put profit over humanity's wellbeing.”
—Luca GoldMansour, senior at City College of New York, BA political science, journalism minor
* “FAIR provided me with a new way to look at the news. As an intern I learned invaluable research skills that will help me even after I graduate.”
—Jasmine Watson, senior at Stonybrook University, journalism major, English minor
Through our internship program, we see this talented next generation of media activists gaining the skills to advocate for a truly free press. Your donations to FAIR support this mission, which will pay off for years to come.
Small, individual donors make up the bulk of FAIR’s revenue. It’s truly amazing to be supported by such a dedicated community of listeners, readers and advocates. With your help, we can guarantee that we won’t give up this fight until we’ve won it!
Your generous donations have allowed us to keep our fundraising drives to no more than four times a year. Right now, we’re a little more than halfway toward our goal.
Help us reach it!
Thank you for inspiring the next generation of media activists.
Sincerely,
Olivia Riggio, Janine Jackson, Jim Naureckas & Julie Hollar
And our spring interns! Jasmine Watson, Ines Santos & Luca GoldMansour
