Throughout Rashida’s career in public service, she has fought alongside environmental justice activists to hold corporate polluters accountable and protect our right to breathe clean air and drink clean water.

Her environmental achievements in Congress include: creating a fund totalling $1.1 billion to stop water shutoffs during the pandemic, and passing historic amendments that would provide $23 billion to fully replace dangerous lead pipes—prioritizing communities facing environmental racism and protecting our kids from poisonous exposure.

Serving as the Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on the Environment in the House Oversight Committee, Rashida uplifts her district’s residents who’ve been most impacted by pollution. For example, she has created a local legislative working group to address environmental injustices.
