Dear Friend, Ruth’s List Florida is thrilled to share that Marika Lynch will receive the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award at our annual She’s the Change Leadership Conference. The award honors her years of extraordinary service and dedication to Ruth's List Florida on both the state and local level.
With 20+ years of experience as a strategist and content creator, Marika's passion is helping nonprofits and foundations achieve their goals through strategic communications. Since founding her company ML*C in 2008, Marika has helped some of the country's largest foundations and the smallest non-profits do good better. Previously, Marika was an award-winning writer and editor for the Miami Herald, where she reported across the Americas and shared in two Pulitzer Prizes. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, a mid-life runner and a proud Miamian.
Marika joined the board of Ruth's List Florida in 2016, and led the Miami network from 2018 to 2020. “To say that Marika embodies the values of Ruth's List is an understatement," said President & CEO Lucy Sedgwick. "Marika was one of our earliest supporters, and has since become a pillar of the organization. Her vision and expertise have truly shaped who we are today, and we owe her a debt of gratitude for all she has done to advance Ruth's List's mission over the years."
