Every day that I'm out here on the campaign trail talking to voters, I'm reminded why this election is so important.
Between soaring gas prices, unlivable housing costs, pharmaceutical price gouging, and skyrocketing healthcare costs, working families are stretched thin.
That's why it's so unconscionable to hear about the GOP plan that would gut the social safety net for working people and stretch Americans even more than they already are.
Mike Garcia and his GOP-allies in Congress repeatedly show their complete lack of regard for Americans trying to make ends meet.

Here are just a few of the shameful proposed GOP policies: *
-Sunset critical programs like Social Security and Medicaid
-Raise taxes on middle-class Americans by $450 per year
-Force those making $54,000 or less to shoulder 80% of the proposed tax increases
John, if Republicans take control of Congress, they will waste no time doing what they do best – appeasing their campaign contributors and business interests at the expense of the rest of us.
Mike Garcia has already shown that by raking in large campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry — even as these companies continue to deceitfully price gouge us at the pump and rake in record profits at the expense of our planet.
As one of just 14 toss-up districts in the country, CA-27 is the path to holding our majority in Congress and making sure our government works for the people, not corporate interests.
