John–

It's National Volunteer Month, which means it's time to celebrate the
members of our movement who make change possible.

Fighting to end gun violence is not easy. It's a fight peppered with
heartbreaking losses.

But our volunteers have never let that stop them. If anything, they've
used it as fuel to fight even harder.

This movement would not exist without our volunteers and the 8 million
people who support their work. [ [link removed] ]Join me in celebrating these courageous
activists by sending them a thank you note today.

Since I started Moms Demand Action the day after the Sandy Hook tragedy,
our movement has been made up of everyday people in communities across the
country who do the unglamorous work of grassroots advocacy. They're
parents, students, survivors, veterans, and others who have joined
together year after year to fight for gun safety and say enough.

Among them are people like Angela C., a new Students Demand Action
volunteer in Florida who has worked hard to get Wear Orange proclamations
in neighboring cities; without hesitating, she jumped right into action on
state legislative work.

They're people like Katie S. in Michigan, who has been working with local
community partners for years—she recently supported them in joining Moms
at Michigan Advocacy Day to speak about their work and needs.

And they're volunteers like Melissa H., Jeannie K., and Caralyn W., who
have helped lead the way on elections work in Maryland, sending out more
Gun Sense Candidate questionnaires than any other state—nearly 1,000 so
far.

Our movement is made up of so many stories like theirs—but that's just the
tip of the iceberg. Our impact takes as many forms as there are
volunteers. Simply put, the more volunteers we have, the bigger of an
impact we make.

[ [link removed] ]This National Volunteer Month, send a thank you note to the people
across the country working day-in and day-out to end gun violence.

And if you want to join them in making our movement stronger, [ [link removed] ]sign up
today to become a volunteer.

Thank you for being a part of this movement. I'm in awe every single day
of what we're able to accomplish together.
