john,
Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is the perfect opportunity for us to reflect on how we can do more to protect our planet and aid in the fight against climate change.
As Nevada’s attorney general, it is one of my responsibilities to protect and preserve our state’s natural resources, and prosecute bad actors who would do harm to our environment.
Right now, enforcing environmental protection laws is more important than ever. Our planet is getting hotter every year, while extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods grow more intense and more frequent. We’re seeing the effects of climate change here in Nevada: with the depletion of Lake Mead, longer wildfire reasons, and record-breaking heat.
Just this month, the IPCC came out with a damning new report that says if greenhouse gas emissions are not curbed by 2025, we’ll be headed down an irreversible path to a climate breakdown.
I know what’s at stake, and my office and I are committed to using every tool at our disposal to minimize the impacts of the climate crisis before it’s too late. Add your name now to show your support for this work and recommit to environmental justice this Earth Day.
Earth is the only home we have and we are obligated to do everything we can to protect it. I’m honored to be leading the fight for our planet here in Nevada, and want to thank you for being part of it.
