We're reaching out to wish you a happy Earth Day, John!

Here in Chicago, we're making our city more sustainable through investments in renewable energy and decarbonization strategies... like planting 75,000 more trees over the next 5 years! As our city faces warmer winters and extreme swings in water levels, it is imperative that we have ambitious leaders who are deeply committed to implementing equitable environmental legislation.

Since stepping into her role, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has taken bold action in Chicago's fight against climate change. In 2022 alone, she has made climate resiliency a top priority by...

Launching the 2022 Climate Action Plan aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

Allocating $188 million to initiatives for climate and environmental justice — the largest environmental investment in our city's history.

For Mayor Lori Lightfoot, this is just the beginning. She understands the importance of investing in environmentally sustainable resources, in order to secure a cleaner and brighter future for all Chicagoans.

With the support of our community and a commitment to addressing climate change, we are confident that we can make Chicago one of the country's most sustainable major cities for generations to come.

Happy Earth Day,

—  Team Lightfoot
