It’s Earth Day, so I wanted to take a few minutes to write to you about
climate change and my advocacy to protect our planet.

It’s important that we discuss how little time there is left to prevent
climate catastrophe. Extreme weather events are happening more frequently,
and they continue getting worse.

Heatwaves, droughts, and wildfires in the West, heavy rain and flooding in
the Midwest, record cold temperatures in Texas, and more frequent
hurricanes in the South and East — this will be our new normal unless we
ACT.

It will only get worse if we don’t immediately pass legislation to invest
in bold solutions to the climate crisis. Will you join me in this
fight?

climate crisis. We have no time left to wait, and we must go big if we’re
going to meet this crisis head on.

Just look at these two recent headlines on how pressing the crisis is.

Yahoo News: "IPCC: Window to avert catastrophic climate change is quickly
closing"

New York Times: "Stopping Climate Change is Doable, But Time is Short,
U.N. Panel Warns"

We cannot ignore the dangerous and deadly effects of climate change. It's
time to make meaningful investments into climate action and save our
planet right now.

That’s why I continue to advocate for historic investments in clean,
renewable energy production, and an end to our dependence on
tyrant-controlled oil. It’s why I introduced the Climate Resilience
Workforce Act to invest in a skilled workforce capable of responding to
and preparing for the destructive impacts of climate-fueled extreme
weather.

And it’s why I applaud action by President Biden this week to restore
federal regulations requiring rigorous environmental review for major
infrastructure projects.

We have a long way to go to end our reliance on fossil fuels, scale up
clean renewable energy, and transform our society into one ready to stop
climate change.

[ [link removed] ]We can only make these bold changes together. Can you chip in
$3 today to fuel my work to pass legislation and advocate
for action to avert climate catastrophe?

Thank you so much for all that you do to push for big, bold change to
protect our planet.

In solidarity,

Pramila
