Dear John,

In less than seven months, voters across the nation will head to the polls
for the midterm elections, and there is so much at stake; these contests
will determine the influence and power Democrats will have over the next
two years. The right-wing GOP is currently working to win a majority of
the House of Representatives, and they’re going to abuse all of their
power in order to do so.^1 Without control of Congress, it's going to be
nearly impossible for Democrats to pass the critical legislation to
protect our democracy and ensure its ability to thrive.

Midterm elections often drive lower turnout, which means we need to start
building the momentum to mobilize our communities to head to the polls and
keep Democrats in power. Historically, the president's party has lost
seats during midterms, but we cannot let this happen.^2 [ [link removed] ]The first step
to winning this election is getting prepared for the work ahead. That’s
why MoveOn is bringing together members across the country for the
Progressive Power Training Series. This series offers an exciting
opportunity for you to learn more about your political power and how you
can create a lasting impact this election season.

MoveOn is launching this three-part training series, starting May 1, to
help all of us increase our impact on both this election cycle and in the
longer-term work to fight back against right-wing attacks and build a
country where we can all equally enjoy the same freedoms.

The Progressive Power Training Series will help you create a roadmap to
use during this pivotal moment for our country and world. In this series,
you'll be able to identify:

* Your role in this political moment and in this progressive movement
* Your power to make your voice heard and how to strengthen it
* Your impact as an activist.

[ [link removed] ]MoveOn's power comes from members like you, and we can't make strides
toward these monumental goals this election cycle without you. The first
training session is on Sunday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Will you join
to identify your role in this current political moment and how you can
influence the 2022 elections?

Around the nation, GOP-controlled state legislatures and governors have
been busy undoing decades of civil and voting rights progress. From
anti-abortion legislation to anti-voter laws and attacks on the LGBTQ+
community, it is a decisive moment in our nation.^3,4

At the same time, we've seen Democrats at the federal level deliver wins
from COVID relief funds to cutting child poverty in half to pausing
student loan debt collection.^5,6 We have an opportunity to answer these
attacks on our democracy and expand these wins by electing progressive
champions and building on the work we did together to win the White House
and secure a Democratic Congress.

[ [link removed] ]In order to win in 2022, we’re going to need to organize our family,
friends, and communities. Now is the time to learn how. One-hour sessions
are scheduled for May 1, May 15, and June 5. Click here to RSVP.

Our rights are on the line this election, and we want to make sure that
we’re prepared for the fight ahead. This series represents an exciting
opportunity for MoveOn members across the nation to come together and
build their collective power. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump's preparations for being able
to steal the presidency in 2024 are well underway and include working to
replace top election officials in battleground states with his own
loyalists. Which is why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our
23-year history: We're launching a powerful, multimillion-dollar effort to
defeat Trump-backed secretaries of state across the country and elect
individuals who will count every vote and ensure fair elections.
