John -- Our democracy has seen its share of highs and lows over the past few weeks -- and years for that matter.

If you had flipped on the news earlier this month, you would have seen cause for celebration with the news of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court of the United States, making her the first Black woman ever to serve on the nation’s highest court.

But we’ve also seen Republicans in the states escalate their use of gerrymandered legislatures to put stress on our democracy and advance their extreme agendas. There may be no better example than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is expected to sign his gerrymandered congressional map into law any day, just after signing a cruel abortion ban.

I bring this up to center our work and our purpose at All On The Line. The news cycle can be all at once encouraging and disappointing, but our movement is built to make a sustainable impact that outlasts the ups and downs of the day-to-day political discourse.

In America, most voting maps are designed to last 10 years. To prepare for this latest redistricting cycle, we developed a six-year plan. This time around, we have the entire decade to prepare for the next wave of map manipulators.

So I’ve come to the part of the message where I ask you for a donation. As we enter a new phase of the redistricting cycle, you’ll still hear from me plenty. But you’ll hear me increasingly ask for you to invest in the future because we’re not going anywhere. We’re in this fight for the long haul.

Here’s a link my team gave me where you can pitch in to the fight ahead: [[link removed]]
