Happy Earth Day, team!
Growing up on the Olympic Peninsula, I’ve had the joy of growing up with forests and mountains and water as my backyard. It's a privilege I will never take for granted. I’ve also seen how vital these natural resources are to the members of our community, as various people rely on them for recreation, jobs, and their overall quality of life.
At the same time, all of us have witnessed the devastating impacts of climate change. We've had to weather the impact of forest fires, droughts, and flooding in our own backyard.
The science is clear: Climate change is real, and we have to act now so that our children and grandchildren will get to experience the beauty of our planet, just as we did.
I am committed to fighting to protect our planet every day of the year – not just on Earth Day but every day. Will you join me in the fight to combat the climate crisis? Add your name this Earth Day to support our fight for a greener, healthier America >> [link removed]
I’ve seen firsthand climate change's damage to our earth, especially regarding the impact it has had on coastal tribal communities. That’s why protecting our environment has always been one of my top priorities.
I'm proud we secured $3.6 million in federal funding for three tribal relocation efforts in Western Washington. I’m proud to fight for legislation that supports our environment and our local economy, like The Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and the Puget SOS Act. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I championed was a huge step forward, but we have to do more.
Continuing my efforts towards climate justice is not something I can do alone, team.
Can I count on your support? Please add your name next to mine to join the fight to defend our environment this Earth Day. >> [link removed]
