Friend,
For this year’s Earth Day, we’re celebrating the abundance of our planet by taking action against climate change.
When it comes to climate change, the biggest obstacles we face aren’t scientific, but political. That’s why we need to urge our members of Congress to invest in climate action that will prioritize clean energy, green jobs, climate-resilient affordable housing, and environmental justice.
Act now: Write to Congress to take bold, urgent action through climate investment.
In the United States, major floods, wildfires, droughts, and other natural disasters, supercharged by climate change, are becoming the norm. These disasters have had a huge toll on our communities too, amounting to nearly $145 billion in damages last year. Moreover, the effects of such damages disproportionately impact marginalized groups such as those who are low-income, immigrants, people of color, and more.
The impact of climate change has already had devastating effects on people's lives across the globe. We know how scary and overwhelming it can be to think about our planet's future. But sustainable change is possible — especially if we act now, together.
According to leading climate experts, the advancement of climate efforts and green energy around the world has slowed the growth of emissions, showing progress of policies so far, but more urgent action is needed.
On this Earth Day and every day, let’s take action for the planet we call home by urging our members of Congress to prioritize climate investment before it’s too late.
Let's get to work,
NextGen America
