Hey John – Emily here, Elaine’s Finance Director.

Looking at Elaine's fundraising vs. her top Republican opponent, Jen Kiggans, we have a lot to be happy about – so far, Elaine is consistently out-raising Kiggans and has more cash on hand to fund digital ads and voter outreach efforts.

These numbers tell me that Elaine has an incredible grassroots team behind her. That’s critical to the success of our campaign since this is shaping up to be the most competitive and expensive House race in the nation.

But, that doesn’t show us the whole picture.

Even though we’re out-raising Kiggans at present, she’s gaining some serious momentum.

Kiggans was recently endorsed by prominent Republicans like former, twice-defeated VA-02 Representative Scott Taylor and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. These endorsements signal that the national GOP is falling in line behind Kiggans, and with that comes millions in outside spending.

Don’t forget, John, last cycle national Republicans spent $3 million trying to unseat Elaine, and this year the stakes are even higher.

Republicans only need to flip five seats to take back control of the House, and they want Elaine’s to be one of them.

That means we can’t afford to slow down – will you rush a donation of $25 or more today to help us compete with the onslaught of outside spending Kiggans is going to receive?
