For years, Coaching Boys Into Men has leveraged the power of sports to promote respect, nonviolence, and integrity...

Join us on May 4th as we launch a new chapter:

The CBIM & Mental Wellbeing Initiative

Dear John,

Please join Futures Without Violence on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 as we launch our new Coaching Boys Into Men & Mental Wellbeing Initiative!

**For regular attendants of the CBIM Learning Collaborative, this event will take the place of the standard monthly session and use the same Zoom meeting information**

What is Coaching Boys Into Men?

Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) is the only evidence-based prevention program that trains and motivates high school coaches to teach their young male athletes healthy relationship skills and that violence never equals strength. CBIM has been implemented in every state and in many countries around the world, and its power comes from leveraging the critical role that caring, consistent coaches play in the development of young people.

How can I become a Certified CBIM Advocate?

For the first time in CBIM's history, we will be holding free, monthly, virtual Advocate Certification trainings! Historically, many CBIM advocates have been utilizing online resources and our large CBIM network to gain expertise in the program in order to bring it into their schools and communities. Beginning this summer, FUTURES will begin consistently holding virtual training sessions for adults interested in becoming certified CBIM Advocates!

Why enhance CBIM's content around mental wellbeing?

From the pandemic’s disruptive impact on education to ongoing community violence and beyond, reports from young people of mental health challenges have increased dramatically in the last few years. Healthy masculinity has a huge impact on mental wellness - and through the power of programs like CBIM, we can transform how mental health support is delivered to young men. In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and The National Council for Mental Wellbeing, FUTURES has developed new content & materials to support conversations around mental wellness with young men. Leveraging the strengths of the advocates and adult mentors in our CBIM community, we can promote health, safety, and wellbeing for young people.

During this session, we will:

Explain the connections between CBIM & mental health/wellness content & the purpose of addressing mental health through coaches/sports

Describe the mental health enhancements to CBIM, including:

A new weekly session

Mental health drills and activities for coaches to lead

New training for coaches to gain skills

Resources, referral lists, and public campaign materials

Cover when advocate trainings will be available and how to sign up

This session will be recorded and posted on our website
