Good Morning Fellow Climate Activists,
Today, Earth day, is the Chicago Climate Youth Coalition's strike in downtown Chicago to demand the implementation of sustainable policies in Chicago Public Schools(CPS).
When: April 22nd at 2:30 PM
Where: Buckingham Fountain followed by a March to 1 S. Dearborn Sq. for a Rally at 4:30 PM.
We will be meeting on the North Side of the Fountain. Larry Coble will be there in a Gray hoodie with our 350 Chicago logo imprinted upon the front.
The Youth Climate Coalition seeks to have as many people attend the strike as possible, hoping to demonstrate widespread student and teacher support for green policies, such as, retrofitting buildings for energy efficiency, installation of solar panels and infrastructure on rooftops and in school buildings, and climate and environmental justice education in CPS schools.
The environmental policies listed above will benefit all CPS students and families.
350 Chicago would like to voice support for the CPS students and teachers organizing this action. Please consider attending the event to lend your support for environmentally sustainable schools and an educational curriculum teaching about climate change and environmental justice for frontline communities.
Let's have a great showing by the folks of 350 Chicago!
Best regards,
The 350 Chicago Communications Team
