The mask charade may finally be ending, and Americans are happy about it.
This week, Trump administration-appointed Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle ruled that the mask mandate was unlawful. Within hours, airline companies and other public and private transportation services dropped their mask requirements, to the cheers of the American people. The judge’s decision followed the courageous action of a few people who were willing to take a stand against these big government policies and filed for relief in federal court. The Biden administration is inexplicably trying to file an appeal---don't they KNOW that they’ve lost this battle with the American people?!?!
It’s a reminder to us all that we cannot permit tyrants to rule and oppress the people. Frederick Douglass said, “The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.” We must always take a stand for what’s morally right, even when it’s unpopular. It is our responsibility to preserve this unique form of government that President Lincoln so aptly described as “of the people, by the people, for the people.” We cannot obey or comply ourselves into freedom.
As President Reagan (then governor of California) said, “Perhaps you and I have lived too long with this miracle to properly be appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and its never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.”
Indeed, we must resist and provide that check against those who would wish to bring back these destructive unconstitutional policies. That’s why I’m again seeking your support to be your Congressman for Virginia’s 5th district. I’ve never been afraid to call out the hypocrisy of the left, the ridiculousness of their unscientific and unlawful COVID policies, and the failed leadership that shut down our economy, our schools, and our places of worship.
I’ve spent the last two years calling for sensible measures that permit individuals to make informed decisions for themselves and their families regarding their health and any COVID precautions. I’ve spoken at school board meetings about the long-term harm these irresponsible policies have placed on our children. And I’ve vocally defended and tried to protect our military from being dismissed from duty for choosing not to receive an unproven vaccine.
This week's decision by the judge in Florida was a big win for freedom, and I’m unapologetic for taking the tough stands I’ve taken against these wrong government policies over these past two years.
There are still more battles to be won regarding COVID policies still in effect by government agencies who are not accountable to the people. I appreciate the feedback I’ve received from many of you, encouraging me to keep pressing on in this fight. I look forward to continuing to be a voice for freedom and constitutional governance. I will NEVER back down to tyrants, and I am truly grateful for your continued trust.
