Kia ora John,

You might remember I emailed three weeks ago to ask for your help, after we heard National had raised $1.8 million from fewer than twenty wealthy donors.

I wanted to reach out today to thank you for your incredible response to our appeal. 704 of you generously donated to Labour after seeing our email, and we’ve raised over $147,000. Those funds are absolutely invaluable as we get prepared for upcoming campaigns.

I’ve never been prouder that we’re a people-powered movement. In Labour, donors from all walks of life chip in whatever they can afford to help us to run the biggest, most effective campaigns possible. That’s because our policies serve all New Zealanders. The contrast with National couldn’t be clearer.

We may not match them dollar-for-dollar, but we beat them person-for-person. I'm proud of that.

On behalf of the whole Labour team, from MPs to members to volunteers and supporters, thank you for your support and generosity.

Ngā mihi,

Rob Salmond

General Secretary
