We’re back with a fairly new tool from our [ [link removed] ]Let’s Go Joe advocacy
toolbox – LTEs. 

What are Letters to the Editor? 

A LTE, or a “Letter to the Editor” is one of the most effective and
commanding advocacy tools we have. Letters to the Editor are an important
way to build awareness and community support for an issue that matters to
you. Members of Congress (MoCs) and the White House track Letters to the
Editor in newspapers across the country, and they help journalists
understand what regular people are thinking about. Just like a viral
social media post, LTEs help us show public support for particular issues.
By just taking just a few minutes to write a LTE, your message can reach
thousands of people, and maybe even the president himself. 

Letters to the Editor are one arm of our overall campaign to encourage the
president to use his power to improve all our lives, and the one we’re
focusing on most this week. 

With that, here is how you can get your letter published on two critical issues:

 1. [ [link removed] ]If you’re passionate about fighting climate change, click here to
write a letter to the editor explaining why President Biden must
declare a national climate emergency and mobilize our nation’s
resources on a massive scale to transition to clean renewable energy
and create millions of good paying green jobs.

 2. [ [link removed] ]If you care about lowering the cost of prescription drugs, click
here to submit a letter to the editor to a newspaper in your city or
town calling on President Biden to use his executive authority to
lower prescription drug prices now.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, we give you a sample letter to work
from at each of the links above, as well as a list of local papers to
submit to. We need to make bold advocacy moves to encourage bold change
from President Biden, and we can’t do it without your help. Please, write
a Letter to the Editor of your local paper today.
