Thanks to overwhelming support I’ve received in the past several fundraising quarters, I’ve been able to focus on successfully passing the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act , or MORE Act, through the House. This bill not only decriminalizes marijuana at the federal level, but also works to correct the racist enforcement associated with prohibition.

The criminalization of marijuana at the federal level has worked hand-in-hand with the War on Drugs. Black Americans have been disproportionately affected by selective enforcement of needless anti-marijuana laws, and it's now time to bring restorative justice to these communities.

Pitch in here to fund our efforts to hold the House so I can stay focused on delivering restorative justice for marginalized communities by ending cannabis prohibition! [[link removed]]

The past several years have been monumental in terms of cannabis legalization at the state level, including right here in New York. Now, it’s time for our federal laws to keep up the pace. The MORE Act not only decriminalizes marijuana at the federal level, but also:
*
Requires
resentencing
and
expungement
of
certain
prior
marijuana
convictions
*
Authorizes
a
5%
sales
tax
on
marijuana
products
to
create
an
Opportunity
Trust
Fund,
encompassing
three
separate
grant
programs
to
bring
justice
to
those
disproportionately
affected
by
the
War
on
Drugs
*
Allows
for
Small
Business
Administration
funding
for
cannabis-related
businesses
*
Requires

Bureau
of
Labor
Statistics
to
collect
data
on
the
demographics
of
the
cannabis
industry
to
ensure

It's important that we focus on correcting the injustices of the past. Please consider pitching in $15 today to continue supporting my efforts, including getting the MORE Act signed into law. [[link removed]]
