John,
The right to choose is slipping away. Last week alone, both Florida and Kentucky joined Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma in passing laws that effectively ban nearly all abortions. As these states crack down on the right to choose, the Supreme Court is poised to either weaken or altogether overturn Roe v. Wade nearly 50 years after it was first decided.

I know we're in a scary time, but this fight is far from over. Today, I am more resolved than ever to flip this seat blue – because expanding our Senate majority and defeating Sen. Grassley is the only way to protect the right to choose. If you believe in this campaign and in fighting for our reproductive rights, I need you with me: can you rush $5 right now to defend Roe v. Wade, defeat an anti-choice extremist and expand our Senate majority? When I'm in the Senate, I will pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade into law. You have my word.

Sen. Grassley has tried to overturn Roe v. Wade and erode reproductive justice throughout his entire career. When he first entered the Senate, nearly 40 years ago, he voted in favor of a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe. He's voted to advance abortion bans over and over again. He's voted to strip funding from Planned Parenthood, and with it, critical health care services for millions of people.
But Sen. Grassley's crowning achievements? Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, who together with the court's four other conservative justices could overturn Roe v. Wade in a matter of months.
While Chuck Grassley has worked to undermine this landmark ruling, I’ve defended women’s reproductive rights with everything I have. When Republicans in the Iowa State House tried to enact a six-week abortion ban, I fought back and, in the U.S. House, I defended Roe v. Wade time and time again. Unfortunately, politicians like Chuck Grassley were in the U.S. Senate doing everything they could to accomplish their extremist agenda: to see abortion banned across the country.
A man elected in the 1950s shouldn’t be calling the shots on women’s reproductive rights in 2022. This November, we can do something about this: We can defeat Sen. Grassley, elect a pro-choice woman to the Senate and expand Democrats' majority so that we can pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade into law.
To win – and to protect the future of reproductive rights – I need your help, John. So please, from the bottom of my heart, I'm asking you to chip in a donation of $5 or whatever you can spare to help me defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley. In times like these, we've got to band together and fight with everything we've got. I'm not giving up, but I can't win without strong grassroots support from people like you. Please, donate whatever you can now.
