This morning, Sunrise Movement announced that they’re endorsing Cori
Bush’s re-election campaign and supporting our progressive movement so we
can finally pass a Green New Deal in Congress.

We’re honored to receive the support of Sunrise Movement. Together, we
will make sure our government enacts urgent climate action so we can
protect our planet and vulnerable communities like St. Louis. 



But here’s the harsh reality we face in this election: Big Oil and fossil
fuel executives plan on spending millions to defeat Green New Deal leaders

John, it is
unacceptable to drag our feet on addressing the climate crisis any longer.
Every minute, we inch closer to hitting a point of no return — and climate
scientists have already predicted a significant increase in extreme
weather events over the next 20-30 years. 

In communities like St. Louis, there are already clear signs of how folks,
especially Black and brown people, are hurting because of a lack of local
funding and government support for climate action and environmental
protection. 

That's why Cori has dedicated herself to bringing the push for
environmental justice to the communities hurting the most. Cori is a
co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and proudly introduced the Green New Deal
for Cities alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to bring the Green New
Deal to every community. 

We’re excited that organizations like Sunrise Movement are rising up to
support Cori’s leadership especially leading up to this very competitive
midterm election. But it’s going to take all of us working together to
make sure we’re ready for every attack Big Oil and fossil fuel interests
have planned for our movement.
