In these final nights of Ramadan, help us increase our capacity Dear Email, Since 2014, over 200 bills to ban the boycott of Israel have been introduced nationwide. These bills aim to curb the successes of the movement for Palestinian rights in the US which has made significant strides in changing the public narrative on Palestine. In the past decade alone, we’ve seen public opinion shift on Palestine as more Americans begin to understand the truth. The positive shift in public opinion and the growing Palestinian rights movement gives pro-Israel groups much to worry about. They’ve taken their efforts to quash this growing movement into overdrive and as of this day, 32 states and the federal government have enacted anti-bds legislation. These types of legislation not only contradict the American tradition of boycott but are also flat-out unconstitutional. That's why in 2018, I challenged one of these laws in Arizona and defeated it. Legal challenges in other parts of the country have also seen anti-boycott legislation struck down or minimized. |

The battle for Palestine in the US is being fought on multiple fronts, including in the court of law. As legislation criminalizing the boycott of Israel increase in prevalence, it's important that we are fully equipped with the staff and expertise necessary to fight these gross injustices. By hiring an in-house attorney, AMP will litigate Palestine and increase our capacity to fight for Palestinian rights. As we enter the last ten nights of Ramadan, we reflect on the importance of effective advocacy. Justice does not move on its own; we must proactively establish it. It requires us to move it forward. AMP asks you to join us by making a Zakat-eligible donation today to help continue and expand this important work. |
