Here are the facts, John:

Mitch McConnell’s Super PAC just reserved $141 million in fall
advertisements in key battleground states to reclaim control of the Senate
majority. It’s already a bigger investment at this point than in 2020 when
Trump was on the ballot.

The Senate Leadership Fund, run by McConnell’s former chief of staff, is
reserving at least $27 million in North Carolina, $24 million in
Pennsylvania, and $15 million in Wisconsin. That’s on top of what
Republican Senate campaigns and their affiliated Super PACs will dump into
countless negative and false TV ads.

Additionally, they’re spending $37 million in Georgia, $15 million in
Nevada, and $14 million in Arizona to go after Democratic senators and
flip the seats they need to eliminate our majority. And it’s just the
beginning.

Let’s face it. Our politics are awash in hundreds of millions of dollars
of dark money, unaccountable donations that are used to spread
misinformation and purchase seats in Congress. That’s why I introduced a
Constitutional Amendment in the House that would finally overturn the
Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

McConnell and the GOP are more than happy to spread misinformation, hate,
and billionaire-financed propaganda to take back the Senate majority.

And Republican state legislators are helping the effort by passing voter
suppression laws, gerrymandering districts, and energizing their radical
right-wing base by banning abortion, censoring books, and launching a
massive anti-LGBTQ campaign targeting transgender youth to turn out a red
wave this November. It’s despicable.

We can’t be intimidated by the GOP’s advertising strategy. These days it’s
par for the course. But the American people will see through the GOP
smears if we expose them. In 2020, we defeated Donald Trump, protected the
House, and secured the Senate because the American people rejected their
hateful agenda.

I’m confident we can win again this November, but our work to defend our
majorities in Congress must start in earnest. Right now.
