Ernst was entrusted with reauthorizing VAWA, which she promised to do without letting the bill fall prey to partisan politics. Instead, she stalled the already overdue vote and introduced a weak version of VAWA in a blatant attempt to appease her NRA supporters and place the GOP over people.
