John,
Year after year, temperatures rise, storms worsen, and the people least responsible for destroying our planet continue to bear the biggest brunt of the upheaval wrought by the climate crisis.
From wildfires ravaging swaths of land, destroying homes, and torching wildlife — to oil spills depriving Indigenous, Black and rural communities of clean water, soil, and air — the cost of inaction is mounting. And this is just the beginning of our new climate reality.
We have already locked in a hotter future, but we still have a chance to prevent the most devastating outcomes by demanding sweeping investments in our communities, clean energy, and a climate-resilient future.
This Earth Day, Saturday, April 23, we’re gathering in Washington, DC to crank up the pressure while there’s still time to get ambitious climate legislation over the finish line. Can you join us?

President Biden was elected on a promise to take bold action on climate. So far, he’s been stymied by fossil fuel executives, their DC lobbyists, and special interests that have undermined any attempt to pass climate legislation that would interfere with their profits. But right now, Biden and key members of the Senate are ready to cut a deal and pass the largest investment in clean energy jobs in American history — but they won’t do it without a push from us.
The world is waking up to the fact that our continued reliance on fossil fuels puts people, the planet, and our future at the mercy of existential environmental threats. That’s why the negotiations happening in Washington right now are different from anything we’ve seen so far.
But with the balance of power the way it is in Washington, this might be our last chance to pass a bill at the national level for years. Join us on Saturday, April 23rd in Washington DC to sound the alarm, and make the climate crisis heard.

The climate movement is strong. We’ve stopped pipelines in their tracks, we’ve made sure our cars are more efficient than ever before, and together we helped elect this President and Congress on the promise of climate action. We can’t afford to give up now, when we’re so close. Show up and demand action.
Hope to see you there,
