Today, I released my transformative Jobs Guarantee plan that will drive down violent crime by getting DC residents employed in the jobs that will tackle our climate crisis. This is the kind of deliberate and comprehensive plan we need to address crime and violence and keep our city safe. You can read the plan here.
I was so glad to announce this major plan at Dix Street Garden. Boe Luther and Wallace Kirby, two incredible community leaders, have built this space to bring people together, promote food justice, and provide workforce development. Our best ideas come when we listen to and engage with communities. |
As Mayor, I will use DC’s record-setting budgets to actually solve problems. Our only response to public safety can’t just be more police when we have the resources to do so much more. I hope you will share this plan with your friends and family. My best, Robert |
