Friends,

Moments after we raised the alarm about AIPAC attacking Democratic primary
candidates, news broke that AIPAC was endorsing 72 more Trump-allied
Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election results.

AIPAC is now fundraising for 109 candidates who threaten our democracy --
and they’re doing it in the name of standing up for Israel.

When an organization is smearing progressives for speaking out against the
occupation while simultaneously raising millions for pro-insurrectionist
candidates, it has ZERO credibility to speak on behalf of the Jewish
American community, or any voters who support a just, peaceful and
democratic future for Israelis and Palestinians.

As we wrote before: Harsh, unfair attacks on leaders who speak out for
justice, peace and equality are a major reason why our politics is so
broken when it comes to Israel-Palestine.

Now, AIPAC’s support for these 109 candidates threatens to break our
democracy as well -- directly undermining the shared values which underpin
the US-Israel relationship they claim to support.

While AIPAC is funding anti-democratic candidates and trying to block any
real steps to deter settler violence, settlement expansion and perpetual
occupation, J Street is fighting to protect our democracy and a free,
secure and equal future for Israelis and Palestinians. While they’re
channeling millions to extremists seeking to overturn elections, we’re
standing with allies fighting to protect voting rights and vulnerable
minorities.

Unlike AIPAC, we don’t have right-wing mega-donors funding that work. We
depend on thousands of supporters who chip in every year to fight back.

With just days before we hit our $40,000 Passover fundraising deadline, we
urgently need your support to reach our target. Every dollar gets us
closer to our goal.

As we near the end of the Passover holiday, I’m so very thankful for every
ally and every member of our movement for standing up for the values core
to the Passover story and for our common humanity.

Together, we know that our shared values of liberation, justice and
empathy make us stronger, not weaker. That they must always be central to
our vision, never cast aside.

Thank you,
sincerely, for
your ongoing support.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Tuesday, AIPAC sent a mass email smearing several Democratic primary
candidates, all women of color, as “ANTI-ISRAEL CANDIDATES” in all capital
letters.

It echoed an email last year, when AIPAC claimed Ben & Jerry’s had joined
an “anti-Israel hate campaign” for making the straightforward, principled
decision not to do business within Israeli settlements on occupied
territory.

If you've ever wondered why so many elected officials are hesitant to
openly oppose the occupation or call for even-handed American leadership
toward Israeli-Palestinian peace, these aggressive attacks are a big part
of the reason why.

At J Street, we know that not only is it possible to support Israel’s
security while opposing settlements and supporting Palestinian rights, but
that it’s exactly the position the majority of Jewish Americans hold
themselves.

When AIPAC says opposition to occupation is “anti-Israel,” it’s
misrepresenting our community. When it endorses and fundraises for
far-right, pro-Trump politicians who voted to overturn our election
results and turns its fire on progressive Democrats, it’s betraying our
values.

That’s why we’re pushing back against bad-faith attacks. Why we’re working
to transform political incentives to favor principled leadership and a
truly just, democratic and secure vision for Israel’s future.

Unlike AIPAC, we don’t have right-wing mega-donors funding this work --
but we do have you. Today I’m asking for your support as we near our
Passover fundraising deadline.

Please consider pitching in to fund J Street’s work with a contribution
of $18, $54 or any
other amount. [ [link removed] ]Donate now to push us closer to our goal >>

We’ve got just three days left until our April 23 Passover deadline, and
we’re less than halfway to our $40,000 goal.

Anything you’re able to contribute today will push us closer to that goal
and strengthen our movement in the primary and midterm season ahead.

Thank you, sincerely, for being part of this work.
