A new low, John – Republicans are reacting to our fair redistricting victories by attempting to UNDERMINE the independent power of the judicial branch.
“Democrats have fared much better than expected in the ongoing redistricting cycle... Their success has supercharged a two-pronged effort by Republicans to change the way judges are selected to the bench at the state level while seeking to erode the power of state courts at the federal level.”

Here’s some of what the GOP is doing:
1) They’re promoting “independent state legislature” theory, a fringe legal argument that state legislatures should have sole power over congressional elections.
2) They’re attempting to stack state supreme courts with their hand-picked judges.
3) And they’re even threatening to impeach justices who have voted against them, which is “incredibly dangerous” according to experts!
This is a multi-state, multi-year effort. But we don't have to take it lying down. Here's what the NDRC is doing to fight back:
